adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Wanda has found her forever home! Her story: Wanda is a very special female dog who immediately catches everyone's attention with her glowing, owl-like eyes. Her cheeky stray look with her soft gray fur, deep black hanging ears, and white paws makes her simply irresistible and charming. In December, the lovely female dog was able to travel to Germany on a foster home. There, Wanda shows herself as a lively, open, and curious whirlwind. Whether adults, children, or other dogs – Wanda greets everyone with great friendliness and enthusiasm. Her absolute favorite activity is cuddling – and she loves it a lot. The closeness to her primary caregiver means a lot to her because Wanda is a very people-oriented female dog. At the same time, she is exceptionally eager to learn: "Sit" is already mastered by her like a pro, and house training also works out super quickly. Everyday noises like vacuum cleaners, kitchen machines, cars, or trains do not faze Wanda. She is familiar with walks and car rides, even though she still needs her people for security and orientation here. Wanda likely has a bit of Terrier in her, which is why she needs a loving but consistent upbringing. At about 3 years old, she is active, curious, and full of energy – ready to explore the world with her people and learn even more. Wanda is looking for people who can give her time, patience, and a lot of love – exactly what she so deserves. Whoever recognizes her value gets an incredibly loyal, lovable female dog with a big heart and a lot of potential by her side. Originally from Baia Mare in Romania, Wanda wandered alone on the streets until she was brought to safety. Wanda is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and has a valid EU pet passport. We thank Sabrina H.! You gave Wanda her name and thus a personal identity. Many thanks to Pia B.! You have supported Wanda with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 26.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 26.12.2025

About Wanda

What life with Wanda looks like

Wanda is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wanda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wanda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wanda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wanda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wanda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wanda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wanda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
