Wendy is a charming little Podenca with red fur and green eyes, communicative ears and tiny paws that can move quickly. The only one-and-a-half-year-old female dog came with other dogs into the care of Refugio Kimba, because a state kennel was closed. The dogs suddenly become homeless should be transferred to the next city, to a shelter that still has a killing station. Kimba's animal protectors took over all animals, even though their small facility has once again pushed to the limits of their own capacities. Wendy is only 37cm high and weighs handy 7kg. It is a mini edition of the smart Andalusian running miracle, but inside it is a Grande Dame with a lot of heart. Like most Podencos, Wendy is not intrusive. She is also not an anxious dog, but she envisions the situation, is restrained, but quite mussy and contactful once she has confidence. Since Wendy needs a somewhat longer lead time, she is not necessarily suitable for families with children. But she comes out fine with other dogs and enjoys torturing with her friends from the “Mini Group” in the Refugio. Wendy seeks people with patience and the will to host a princess. She longs for a bite, soft pillows, warm coats, common stripes through the neighborhood and cozy TV evenings. Another dog in the house would not be a problem for the friendly lady at all, but she can also wonderfully take over the monopoly of the family sloth ball.

Wendy ist eine bezaubernde kleine Podenca mit rotem Fell und grünen Augen, kommunikativen Ohren und winzigen Pfötchen, die sich pfeilschnell bewegen können. Die erst eineinhalb Jahre alte Hündin kam mit anderen Hunden in die Obhut des Refugio Kimba, weil ein staatlicher Zwinger geschlossen wurde. Die plötzlich heimatlos gewordenen Hunde sollten in die nächste Stadt überführt werden, in ein Tierheim, das immer noch eine Tötungsstation hat. Die Tierschützer von Kimba übernahmen alle Tiere, auch wenn ihre kleine Einrichtung damit mal wieder an die Grenzen der eigenen Kapazitäten gestoßen ist. Wendy ist nur 37cm hoch und wiegt handliche 7kg. Sie ist eine Mini-Ausgabe der schlauen andalusischen Laufwunder, aber innen ist sie eine Grande Dame mit viel Herz. Wie die meisten Podencos ist Wendy nicht aufdringlich. Sie ist aber auch kein ängstlicher Hund, sondern sie sondiert die Lage, ist zurückhaltend, aber durchaus verschmust und kontaktfreudig, wenn sie einmal Vertrauen gefasst hat. Da Wendy eine etwas längere Anlaufzeit braucht, ist sie nicht unbedingt für Familien mit Kindern geeignet. Aber sie kommt prima mit anderen Hunden aus und genießt es, mit ihren Freund*innen aus der „Mini-Gruppe“ im Refugio zu toben. Wendy sucht Menschen mit Geduld und dem Willen, eine Prinzessin zu beherbergen. Sie sehnt sich nach Zuwendung, weichen Kissen, warmen Mäntelchen, gemeinsamen Streifzügen durch die Nachbarschaft und gemütlichen Fernsehabenden. Ein weiterer Hund im Haus wäre für die freundliche Lady überhaupt kein Problem, aber sie kann auch wunderbar das Monopol der Familien-Knutschkugel übernehmen.
