Adopt Willow

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Meet Willow, a sweet and caring young mum who came into our care through no fault of her own along with her tiny 3-week-old kittens. She is now safe and settled in a loving foster home, where she is doing a wonderful job raising her babies. Willow has a gentle and affectionate nature, and despite all the recent changes in her life, she has remained loving and trusting with the people around her. She has previously lived with children and could make a lovely addition to a family home. As Willow is used to having outdoor access, she will need a home where she can safely explore outside once fully settled. She is looking for a caring forever family who can offer her the love and stability she deserves after devotedly caring for her kittens. Willow will be ready for adoption from mid-June, and we can’t wait for her to find the happy ending she deserves.

About Willow

What life with Willow looks like

Willow is a very small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
