Willy &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

I'm called Willy and I'm a Yorkshire Terrier (or maybe a Lhasa Apso cross-bichon Havanais... I like to keep the mystery alive). At 5 years old, I've passed the age of mischief but I still have my moments of madness, especially on walks! At home, I'm rather calm (I admit I'm a big nap enthusiast), but outside I love discovering my environment and running around. Despite all that, I pull little on the leash, I know how to calm down when my human asks me to, and I have a very good recall. In a short time, I've learned many words that make walks more fluid, and I'm particularly a good student when there's a treat as a reward. I like when humans give me the chance to feel their hand before they pet me, but I lack socialization with other dogs so I tend to get a bit riled up when I encounter them. I admit, the same goes for cats. Rolling objects (scooters, rollers, strollers, etc.) scare me, but the advantage is that I'm small enough to hide behind my walker's legs and wait for them to pass. Adaptable, I know how to get used to new places without too much trouble and stay alone at home for a few hours while welcoming visitors with dignity. Because let's face it, hugs are just as important to me as walks and dry kibble, so any person is welcome if they agree to give me a few petting sessions. At night, I like to sneak onto my human's legs and get their ears tickled while I snuggle on top of them. In the last few weeks, my whole life has turned upside down, but I remain a lively and tender little dog. I'm ready to start a new adventure and brighten your daily routine with my atypical smile!

FR·Show original

About Willy &#8211

What life with Willy &#8211 looks like

Willy &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Willy &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Willy &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Willy &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Willy &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Willy &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Willy &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know Willy &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
