Wilma

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Kitten Β· 4 months

This little lady was one of three cats taken from a house in Ilford. The lady thought Wilma was expecting kittens so we took immediate action on collecting them which actually was really hard as the lady had let them enter her open plan house including the space into the loft!! We got 2 cats that Saturday morning but Wilma was in the loft, she came out during the night apparently and squeezed into the upright freezer and the lady called the Fire Brigade to get her out!! And to top it all, Wilma was already neutered. Sadly, Wilma never tamed sufficiently for homing although the other two cats did find a home of their own.

About Wilma

What life with Wilma looks like

Wilma is a kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Caring for Animals 2001 in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wilma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wilma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Caring for Animals 2001 handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wilma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wilma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Caring for Animals 2001 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Wilma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wilma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Caring for Animals 2001 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wilma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
