Wotsit

Staffordshire Bull Terrier · Female · Young · 2 years

Wotsit is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take her on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help her settle in and give her all the love and attention she deserves. She is a friendly bean who could live with older primary school children who will play with her nicely and will give her space to rest when needed. Wotsit likes all of the attention to herself, so is looking to be the only pet in the home, she would benefit from having polite and calm walking buddies who will help her to build confidence around socialising with other dogs. Wotsit is a clever girl and already has a little training under her belt, she does a lovely “sit” and “down, she is eager to engage in training in short, sweet sessions as long as a squeaky toy is in the mix. She would like a home with a private, secure garden for her to potter about in at her leisure. Wotsit can be worried being left alone, so is looking for a family with someone home the majority of the time, especially to begin with, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once she has had time to settle into her new home. Wotsit will need to meet her adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear all of this in mind when applying. Meet Wotsit, a lovely 2 year old Staffy cross who is full of beans! She absolutely loves her toys, especially if they squeak, her piggy toy is her favourite, she will chase and bound around after it all day if she could. She waits very patiently for you to throw it, but if you take too long she starts to wiggle and bounce on her back legs. Once she is done with playtime, she likes to chill with her favourite people and watch the world go by or have a quick snuggle, she does tend to get all wiggly and silly when she is fussed a lot and needs to shake it off. This super pup is ready to find her new home.

About Wotsit

What life with Wotsit looks like

Wotsit is a young adult staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wotsit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wotsit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wotsit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wotsit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wotsit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wotsit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wotsit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
