Wren

Poodle · Female · Adult · 4 years

06-07-26 Wren is an incredible lady who has come into our care from a breeder. Although Wren came from a breeder, she has never had any puppies. She has spent her whole life living in the rural countryside alongside other Poodles, where she was used to being off lead and had very little experience of meeting new people. Because of this, she is going to need time to adjust to home life and all the new experiences that come with it. A quieter home and a slower pace of life will suit her best while she finds her feet. She will need adopters with experience to understand her worries. Wren can be a little nervous to begin with, but she has a lovely affectionate side. Once she gets to know you, she really enjoys a fuss and will come looking for attention. She is easy to handle and is already showing us what a sweet girl she is. Wren gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. She will need an extra secure garden of at least 6ft, that can keep her safe as she learns about home life. As Wren has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and give her plenty of time to adjust to her new surroundings. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens, aged 16+ who can allow her a calm environment to settle into. Wren is a gentle girl with lots of potential. She has already started to show her affectionate nature, and with time, patience, and the support of another dog, we hope she will continue to grow in confidence and enjoy everything home life has to offer. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Wren

What life with Wren looks like

Wren is a adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wren, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wren?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wren on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wren if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Wren already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wren isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wren and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
