How do I contact the shelter about Wunderschöner Barsim?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wunderschöner Barsim on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Wunderschöner Barsim if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Wunderschöner Barsim already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Wunderschöner Barsim isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wunderschöner Barsim and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Wunderschöner Barsim

German Shepherd · Male · Young · 2 years

Our beautiful Altdeutscher Shepherd mix Barsim was seized from poor living conditions in Romania. Unfortunately, he then fell from the frying pan into the fire. In the euthanasia facility, there was no food. He was freed and nursed back to health after weeks. He is open to people as long as they don't corner him. Then Barsim fights back. He was most likely tortured in Romania and Barsim would not want to experience that again. Barsim is extremely submissive to me. I can do anything with him. Even carry him around or correct him. However, you have to earn these rights through trust first. Then Barsim will do everything for you. He is a good guard dog and protector, like any Shepherd. Barsim would certainly enjoy head work and/or even dog training. Barsim is extremely cuddly (sleeps in bed), very attached, people-oriented, open, cheeky - very much so, obedient, runs freely without a leash on walks, would do everything for his people. Barsim has a height of about 70cm. Barsim gets along well with other dogs, although I see him more as a single dog or with a female. Barsim is neutered, SHPPiL4T core-vaccinated, dewormed, de-fleaed, chipped with an EU pet passport, tested negative for Mediterranean diseases (already over a year in Germany).

DE·Show original

About Wunderschöner Barsim

What life with Wunderschöner Barsim looks like

Wunderschöner Barsim is a young adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
