Schmuseterrier Marc

Male · Adult · 4 years

Marc, a 4-year-old Terrier mix, is a heartwarming companion seeking a forever home. His foster home shares: ❤️ Marc - a small heart dog searching for his human. May I introduce Marc - a Terrier mix with a big heart, a generous amount of Terrier charm, and a special need for cuddles. 🐶❤️ He loves his humans and wants to be close to them all the time. Cuddling is essential for him. Whether on the bed, sofa, or - if Marc gets his way - directly on someone's lap: the main thing is body contact and lots of attention. He can be a real little cuddly bear and clearly enjoys when everything revolves around him. 🥰 But Marc is not just a cozy couch dog. Outside, his Terrier heart awakens! He loves exploring the world with his nose on walks. He sniffs enthusiastically, curiously discovers his surroundings, and wants to examine everything closely. And if something moves, his small hunting instinct can be triggered. A bit of Terrier is indeed in him. 😉 Marc is cautious and skeptical around other dogs. He doesn't necessarily need every dog as a friend and wants to decide for himself who he trusts. However, he finds people really great. ❤️ Another great love in Marc's life is - not surprisingly - food. 😄 He is a real gluttonous caterpillar and transforms into a small, excited whirlwind when he sees food. Treats? Always welcome! A meal? Best immediately! And if someone claims that Willi just got something, he is probably of a different opinion. 🥰 Marc is a dog with personality. He is affectionate, curious, people-oriented, and sometimes a little stubborn - just a real Terrier mix. He wants to be loved, occupied, and above all, belong. We wish for Marc people who don't see his little quirks as a problem, but as part of what makes him so unique. People who give him security, give him time, and show him that he has finally arrived. Because deep in his heart, Marc really only wants one thing: a person with whom he can share his bed, his heart, and ideally the whole bed forever. ❤️🐾 Maybe you are the person Marc has been waiting for so long. He is chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and brings an EU pet passport with him.

About Schmuseterrier Marc

What life with Schmuseterrier Marc looks like

Schmuseterrier Marc is a large adult dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Schmuseterrier Marc, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Schmuseterrier Marc?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Schmuseterrier Marc on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Schmuseterrier Marc if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Schmuseterrier Marc already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Schmuseterrier Marc isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Schmuseterrier Marc and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
