adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Yano has found his fortune! His story: Yano is a curious little explorer who can't wait to explore the world outside the our shelter in Bistrita. He arrived there with his big family and is currently still spending his days with his wonderful mother, Barbara, and his siblings, Aimi, Dino, Camila, Rolfi, and Uncle. It's no secret that a proud German Shepherd-Mix is inside Yano – he already shows himself to be an alert and eager-to-learn puppy that is ready to go through thick and thin with his people. At just 31 cm tall, he may appear rather small, but Yano has big plans and will likely grow to a large size. He is a true charmer: he is absolutely friendly with people and also enjoys playing and frolicking with his fellow animals to his heart's content. His gentle and people-oriented character was directly inherited from his mother, Barbara. Whether he gets along with cats, we don't know. Whoever takes Yano into their family will be deciding on an exciting shared growth. The puppyhood will be intense and lively: since Yano doesn't know house life yet, he starts from scratch. For his new people, this means: wiping away puddles with a wink, securing house shoes for safety, and proving a lot of patience when training house cleanliness. It's a time full of new impressions, during which Yano must learn that the rustling of garbage bags is harmless and that the leash is not a toy but the way to freedom. Leaving him alone should be a distant consideration for the first year and should happen step by step, as he needs to build trust first. Once the milk teeth are gone, the next big challenge begins: puberty! During this phase, Yanos' brain is "closed for renovation." It could be that he suddenly forgets what "sit" means, or he is completely fascinated by a jumping frog, or he follows an interesting scent trail while the recall seems to be lost in the wind. But don't worry: with humor, loving consequences, and patience, the cheeky "teenager" will become a loyal and inseparable companion. A visit to dog training classes would be the perfect hobby for a clever head like Yano. He wants to be mentally challenged, solve tasks together, and show what a great partner he is. Yano is ready to trade the shelter routine for a warm dog bed and is eagerly waiting for his people. Yano travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his home, together with his EU pet passport. Status: January 13.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 13.01.2026

About Yano

What life with Yano looks like

Yano is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yano, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yano?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yano on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yano if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yano already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yano isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yano and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
