Yellow – 1 year old female

Labrador Retriever · Female · Puppy · 6 months

This very pretty young girl is from working lines. She was noted to have an unusual gait as a young puppy, so her breeders have had several investigations carried out. No structural problems have been discovered. She is a very active youngster. When she walks slowly, no issues can be seen, but she resorts to bunny hopping if she wants to pick up speed. It is not yet known whether she will grow out of this odd gait. She has not met children or cats and still lives with her litter sibling in a kennel environment at her breeder’s home. She is kennel clean, but has not lived full time in a house. She is really quite wary of strangers at first, but settles to being a normally wriggly and loving dog quite quickly. We feel that she should not be placed with young children, as their jumping about might increase her gait problems. She has had very good, early training, so she now walks very well on a slip lead and responds to a whistle. She has not yet had her first season, so she is not spayed. Apart from the gait issue, she is very fit and well. At the moment, she is not given ant medication or supplements, but the charity will help with any future needs relating to her gait problems. As she is under the care of a specialist vet in the North Suffolk/East Cambs area, we are looking for child-free adopters within that area.

About Yellow – 1 year old female

What life with Yellow – 1 year old female looks like

Yellow – 1 year old female is a medium-sized puppy labrador retriever dog waiting at Labrador Rescue South East and Central in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yellow – 1 year old female, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yellow – 1 year old female?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labrador Rescue South East and Central handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yellow – 1 year old female on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yellow – 1 year old female if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labrador Rescue South East and Central will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yellow – 1 year old female already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yellow – 1 year old female isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labrador Rescue South East and Central early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yellow – 1 year old female and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
