YOKI

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

YOKI is not only charming with people, but also a bundle of temperament (which is why photos of him are often blurry because he's always on the move) and, something that doesn't necessarily make him popular with other cats, a bit too forward and playful. However, in his group of kittens, he has found a little companion - VANILLI - who seems to get along well with him. YOKI is a funny, always cheerful adventurer who is very attached to people, extremely affectionate and usually purring. He definitely needs suitable cat company and after being neutered, he absolutely needs outdoor access (in the interest of all parties involved). He has no problems with children, but they shouldn't be too "sensitive"... He doesn't know dogs, but with his self-confidence, he will probably get along with a cat-experienced Wauzi. Our tomcat was born in late May 2026 and was vaccinated and microchipped twice when he left. Curious? Call under... or send a meaningful email to...

DE·Show original

About YOKI

What life with YOKI looks like

YOKI is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald in Wald-Michelbach.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting YOKI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about YOKI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw YOKI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt YOKI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is YOKI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if YOKI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know YOKI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
