adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ysa can travel! Her story: Our lovely Ysa is searching for a new home as her family can no longer care for her adequately due to health reasons. Although it's hard for her, they now want to find the perfect home for Ysa where she can be appropriately stimulated and nurtured. She moved to her family in April 2024 at around 4 months old and has developed well. Ysa is now a bit more than a year old and has grown into a beautiful, approximately 54 cm tall, athletic young female dog. She is described as a loving whirlwind, full of age-appropriate energy and mischief, with a high need for movement. She loves her garden, where she can play and also relax. The young pup is in the middle of puberty and of course still has a lot to learn. But she is a friendly and loving soul who loves treats and brings the best prerequisites for successful training. At home, Ysa is a small cuddly animal that always wants to be close to her people and loves cuddles. She can relax and enjoy her downtime, but her people should be nearby. Then the Ysa-world is fine. She knows basic commands, of course, but sometimes during puberty, she might not always follow them 😊 And of course, she also overdoes it sometimes and does something silly. But that's all within reason and completely normal. Visitors will be greeted briefly but never rudely, and she likes children. Ysa currently lives with a cat in the household. The walks are rather relaxed. She already runs well on the leash, but she also has a slight prey drive. Dog encounters usually go friendly, and she is not interested in cyclists and joggers. She loves long walks and needs the exercise. With further training and regular stimulation, the sweet sniffer will surely make a great walking companion! Ysa is a delicate female dog with a wonderful coat pattern and beautiful long legs. She fits an active family that likes to be outdoors and perhaps try out a few dog sports. Interested in our sweet Ysa? Then ask her directly and arrange a personal meet! Many thanks Katrin P.! You named Ysa. Date: 15.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Ysa darf reisen! Interessiert an unserer süßen Ysa? Vielen Dank Katrin P.! Du hast Ysa ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 15.03.2025

About Ysa

What life with Ysa looks like

Ysa is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ysa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ysa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ysa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ysa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ysa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ysa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ysa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
