Adopt Yuki

Husky · Female · Young · 1 year

Hello there, I am (Sookie/Yuko, whichever you prefer, we've started with Yuki 😅). In my past, I learned a lot about communicating with other dogs and strengthened my understanding. I have a clear idea and can clearly and simply tell my fellow animals when something goes too far. At my current foster home, I live with another Husky-Mix female dog. We give each other our opinions when something is not right and can continue our daily life as usual and uncomplicated. She is a bit calmer and I am more lively. After a few days, we could lie next to each other side by side, which means a lot to my roommate 🙌🏼 When you see and feel how I give myself, you will discover my warm and love-filled side, which I want to share with you at all times and always. I love going for walks and hiking and was even part of my first jogging unit. I LOVE being outside. With me, you can see and have a lot of fun, yet passing cars/buses/tractors/motorcycles give me a bit of a scare and I move to the inner side of the sidewalk (sometimes more, sometimes less), but I get used to it very well over time. If you are someone who can also relax, you might catch me and we are on the same wavelength. I am a Happy-Doggo and look forward to nature-loving, active people who will take me into their hearts and never let me go. We need rules, but there are none for cuddling ❤️ Do you think you are the right person for Yuki or would you like to get to know her better?

About Yuki

What life with Yuki looks like

Yuki is a large young adult husky dog waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
