Yves

Unknown · Young · 1 year

Yves was found together with his brother Yvo, but came in slightly earlier to our foster family. He quickly became known as a real scaredy-cat, and we noticed that he had had little contact with people. Yves and Yvo had it tough at the beginning. They found us of course very exciting, but a lungworm was also diagnosed, and they both felt very stuffy. By now, they have been treated and are enthusiastically chasing each other or playing with a mouse. Yves greets us with a butt-butt, and nowadays a very cute meow follows because he sees that there are some treats coming. He is, after all, very fond of something tasty. He then lets himself be stroked and has been giving a gentle head rub recently as well. As long as we don't want to pick him up, he is just very cute and careful. Yves and Yvo have a lot of support for each other, which is why we place them together. For both gentlemen, we are looking for a home with people who have experience with fearful cats. People who accept them as they are and give them the time to adapt and gain trust. They cannot be placed with small children, as these are too unpredictable and will cause too much stress. The estimated birthdate of Yves is 29-10-2025. He is vaccinated, neutered, and wormed. Do you have an interest in Yves and Yvo? Then please fill in the form below. Their foster family will contact you as soon as possible.

NL·Show original

About Yves

What life with Yves looks like

Yves is a small young adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yves, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yves?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yves on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yves if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yves already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yves isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yves and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
