Yvo

Unknown · Young · 1 year

Yvo was found together with his brother Yves, but came into our foster family just a bit later. Just like Yves, Yvo is also a shy kitten. He is more cautious than his brother and keeps a safe distance. Yvo and Yves had a tough start. They found us of course very exciting, but a lungworm was also diagnosed and they were both quite stuffy. They have since been treated and now run around enthusiastically or play with a mouse. Yvo greets us with a pee and then quickly sprints to a safe spot. He doesn't hide but sits at a distance to watch what we are all doing. Yvo is not yet being petted, although it sometimes works if he is distracted by something yummy. Because of something yummy, he does come closer and sometimes eats out of the hand too. Yves and Yvo support each other a lot, which is why we place them together. For both of them, we are looking for homes with people who have experience with shy cats. People who accept them as they are and give them the time to adjust and gain trust. They cannot be placed with small children, as these are too unpredictable and will cause too much stress. The estimated birth date of Yvo is 29-10-2025. He is vaccinated, neutered, and wormed. Do you have an interest in Yvo and Yves? Then please fill out the form below. Their foster family will contact you as soon as possible.

NL·Show original

About Yvo

What life with Yvo looks like

Yvo is a small young adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yvo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yvo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yvo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yvo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yvo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yvo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yvo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
