Unfortunately, it's common for Podenco hounds to arrive with an inexplicable fear of people and even everything. Since it's impossible for us to approach them without them fleeing in terror, hiding in any corner to avoid us, our dear Zack is no exception. Fortunately, we can get close to him; although he flees most of the time, he allows us to touch him by lying down on the ground to feel more secure; we suppose he thinks this will make him more invisible to our eyes and we'll leave him alone. Zack is a super good dog, as fear is not an impediment for us or anyone. We can give him treatments, pick him up in our arms, and he approaches us when we give him sausages; he lets us be by his side while we pet him a little; which seems not to bother him and he doesn't reject. He's sociable with other dogs, getting along with several of them wonderfully. His companions help him open up a little more, and in the yard, he plays with them and feels more confident. So, a brother/sister wouldn't be bad. We hope he doesn't end up being left behind just because he's scared, that it's not a problem to give him his space, help him overcome his fears, teach him that we're not bad, and that there's nothing wrong outside the animal shelter.

Desgraciadamente es normal que lleguen podencos con un miedo inexplicable hacía las personas e incluso hacía todo. Como nos es imposible acercarnos a ellos sin que huyan despavoridos, intenten esconderse en cualquier rincón para que no podamos llegar a ellos, y nuestro querido Zack no es menos. Afortunadamente nos podemos acercar a él; aunque nos huya en su mayoría, nos deja tocarlo sin problema tumbándose en el suelo para sentirse más seguro; suponemos que pensará que así será más invisible ante nuestros ojos y lo dejaremos en paz. Zack es un perro super bueno, pues el miedo no es un impedimento para nosotros ni para nadie. Podemos hacerle curas, cogerlo en brazos, se acerca a nosotros cuando le damos salchichas, nos deja estar a su lado mientras lo acariciamos un poco; lo cual parece no incomodarle y no lo rechaza. Con perros es sociable, conviviendo con varios de maravilla. Sus compis le ayudan a abrirse un poquito más, en patio se pone a jugar con ellos y se siente más confiado. Así que, un hermanito/a no le vendría mal. Esperamos que no pase como siempre y lo dejen de lado por el mero hecho de ser miedoso, que no sea un problema el tener que darle su espacio, ayudarle a superar sus miedos, a enseñarle que no somos malos y que no hay nada malo fuera del refugio.
