adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Zaina has found her people! Her story: The golden Zaina is waiting in Meyenburg for her forever home. It was the end of March, a big transport day for over 100 animals. The door of the Trapos opened, and out came this charming little girl. A real stunner! The plush fur and the unique fur pattern, like a small panda baby. But Zaina is not just super cute to look at, she is also very friendly, people-friendly, and kind. But of course, she is also a little cautious and jumpy with new sounds, as she is also just freshly arrived. Zaina is already enjoying the affection and loves to be stroked. Only time will tell more. The sweet magic mouse has already met cats, rabbits, and chickens and is currently living in a household with children. Zaina is just under 5 months old and 35 cm tall. She will likely grow to a medium size. Originally, she came from Fantanele. She arrived with her siblings Siren, Meiky, Magos, Zausel, and Maliboo at our private shelter. The mother stayed with the owner, but we were allowed to neuter her. The mother is about 50 cm tall and could be a lookalike for a retriever, the father is not known. Zaina is looking for people who don’t expect anything from her at first and show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes a little mishap shouldn’t be held against her, and Zaina should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. In the first year, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals’ lives upside down. They “forget” a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently but lovingly train during this phase. But this phase will also pass! Interested in our sweet Zaina? Then ask her right away and secure a personal meet and greet! She also has an EU pet passport in her luggage. Many thanks, Lisa K.! Your nametag was the start of a new life! Date: 28.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Interessiert an unserer süßen Zaina? Stand: 28.03.2025

About Zaina

What life with Zaina looks like

Zaina is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zaina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zaina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zaina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zaina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zaina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zaina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zaina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
