Zara

Vizsla · Female · Adult · 6 years

Zara is our bright, energetic and intelligent girl who is looking for an active home where she can thrive. She is a dog with plenty of personality and a busy mind. She loves being involved, learning new things and having something to keep both her body and brain occupied. Her intelligence means she can pick things up quickly, but it also means she will need an owner who is willing to continue her training and provide plenty of mental stimulation. She would suit an active individual, couple or family who enjoys getting out and about and can give her the exercise, enrichment and attention she needs. Walks, training, scent games, puzzle toys and other activities would be ideal for keeping her happy and fulfilled. She is a wonderful girl with lots of potential and, with the right home and guidance, we believe she will make a fantastic companion. She is looking for someone who understands that a high-energy dog can be hard work at times, but also incredibly rewarding. If you're looking for a clever, fun-loving girl who will keep you on your toes and become a wonderful part of your life, she could be the one for you! Her ideal home: - Active and experienced owners - Plenty of daily exercise and mental enrichment - Continued positive training - Someone who enjoys an intelligent, lively dog - A patient home willing to help her reach her full potential - Can live with children 10+ - Needs to be the only animal in the home. - Needs a secure garden with 6ft fencing. - Time being let alone gradually increased.

About Zara

What life with Zara looks like

Zara is a adult vizsla dog waiting at RSPCA Coventry and District Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Coventry and District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Coventry and District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Coventry and District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
