Noch bevor Zaya überhaupt geboren wurde, musste ihre Mama allein auf der Straße zurechtkommen. Irgendwann suchte sie Schutz im Hof einer Frau – und brachte dort ihre sieben Welpen zur Welt. Seitdem lebt die kleine Familie auf engem Raum, ihre Mutter wird dort leider an der Kette gehalten. Für Zaya wünschen wir uns deshalb umso mehr, dass ihr Leben bald eine ganz andere Richtung einschlagen darf. Zaya ist etwa drei Monate alt, rund 30 cm groß und wird voraussichtlich einmal mittelgroß werden. Mit ihrem hellen Fell, den dunklen Knopfaugen und ihrem neugierigen Blick ist sie eine kleine Erscheinung, die man so schnell nicht vergisst. Viel wichtiger ist aber das, was sie bisher von sich zeigt: Zaya begegnet Menschen ausgesprochen freundlich und lieb und versteht sich auch mit den anderen Hunden vor Ort gut. Ob sie Katzen mag, wissen wir bisher noch nicht. Noch besteht Zayas Welt aus einem sehr überschaubaren Stückchen Rumänien. Wie es ist, in einem Haus zu leben, an Geschirr und Leine spazieren zu gehen, durch belebte Straßen zu laufen oder einfach entspannt im eigenen Körbchen zu schlafen, kennt sie noch nicht. All das möchte sie gemeinsam mit ihren Menschen kennenlernen dürfen – ohne Druck und in ihrem eigenen Tempo. Aus dem kleinen Welpen wird außerdem schon bald eine Junghündin und damit beginnt die spannende Zeit der Pubertät. Dann können neue Unsicherheiten auftauchen, Grenzen werden ausprobiert und bereits Gelerntes scheint manchmal vorübergehend verschwunden zu sein. Zayas zukünftige Familie sollte deshalb neben ganz viel Freude an einem jungen Hund auch Geduld, Humor und Verständnis mitbringen. Wie jeder Tierschutzhund kann auch Zaya sich nach ihrer Ausreise zunächst anders zeigen, als wir sie aktuell erleben. Eine völlig neue Umgebung und all die unbekannten Eindrücke können überfordern oder verunsichern. Umso wichtiger sind Menschen, die ihr Sicherheit vermitteln und ihr die Zeit geben, die sie braucht. Zaya hatte keinen Einfluss darauf, wo ihr Leben begonnen hat. Aber vielleicht findet sie schon bald die Menschen, bei denen der richtig schöne Teil ihrer Geschichte beginnen darf. Zaya reist gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht mit einem gültigem EU-Heimtierausweis. Sie wird nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr vermittelt.
