Adopt Zena

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Well hello everyone My name is Zena, I am a super friendly 1-year-old girl. My personality: I am a confident girl around adult humans, I absolutely love having a fuss you should hear my beautiful purr. I am still settling in here at Rain in my temporary life, but as the days go on I am really starting to shine. The humans have shown me these awesome giant feathers and I LOVE them. My ideal home: My purrfect home would be a home that is calm and relaxed, I have never been around young children but I would be happy being around older ones. I have lived with another cat before but here at Rain I prefer to be on my own, I can be a little bossy… to cats that is! Access to outdoors: I could be either an indoor-only cat or have access to outdoors, once I have settled in that is. Toileting: I am litter trained, I prefer wood pellet litter but I have been used to grit. Did you know: Black cats really struggle to find forever home, this may be because they are bad photo takers, classed as bad luck or just not as “pretty”. My adoption fee is £125

About Zena

What life with Zena looks like

Zena is a extra-large adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
