adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Zimo has found a home! His story: Zimo could travel to his foster home! There, the 30 cm little guy awaits your visit! Originally, he came from the public shelter Baia Mare and was, like many dogs, brought to the animal shelter by the dog catchers. He was already a sunshine there and did not let life in the kennel get to him. So much the better for him that he could step into the trap and travel to his foster home. One could say that Zimo arrived at his destination. Perhaps he was abandoned because he was not surprised by a domestic environment. From the beginning, he mastered stairs and would probably already know how to walk on a leash. He is also a clever little fellow and already makes "sit" obediently. He is simply lovely, people-oriented, and loves to cuddle and be stroked. At home, he is relaxed in the alternation between curious and alert, knows his place, and is also happy to stay there sometimes. Learning to be alone is still in progress, but the little one already manages well for short periods. The busy street traffic still unsettles him, but he will also get used to that. At first, the first-time female dog Zimo did not accept him right away, but he gave in and respected the female dog's dominant behavior. He knows how to avoid conflicts and is more submissive. Outdoors, the two became friends at first, and indoors, they also got used to each other. He has not had any contact with cats yet. Because he was very matted, he had to be trimmed. And because he still got cold without a sweater or jacket, a bag was added to his supplies, in which he can also hop into and be carried when he is outside for longer. Zimo is the born family dog and should also have no problem with children because he loves people so much. Our Zimo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be adopted after a positive match. Who falls in love with the white fluff ball? Many thanks to Stephanie K.! You gave Zimo his name! Date: 27.01.

Vielen Dank Stephanie K.! Du hast Zimo seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 27.01.2024

About Zimo

What life with Zimo looks like

Zimo is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zimo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zimo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zimo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zimo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zimo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zimo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zimo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
