Zobra

Male · Senior · 10 years

Zobra is a 10-year-old Patterdale Terrier cross who has plenty of affection to give. He is a friendly, people-focused dog who enjoys nothing more than spending time with his favourite people and soaking up lots of fuss. He is quick to approach new people for attention and has a gentle nature when interacting with those around him. As a mature dog, Zobra prefers a calmer pace of life and would be happiest around dogs who understand his boundaries. He is unlikely to appreciate more boisterous dogs who pester him to play but could live with another calm and well-matched dog. Zobra has also shown that he can feel slightly uncomfortable around larger dogs, so would ideally be in a home with a dog of similar size. Zobra enjoys getting out and about and will benefit from regular daily walks to keep him mentally and physically stimulated. As a Patterdale Terrier cross, he loves opportunities to explore his surroundings and investigate all the interesting scents along the way. He is equally content to return home and spend some peaceful time relaxing with his favourite people. Due to Zobra’s love of human company he would ideally like a home where someone can be around for much of the day, particularly while he settles in. He can be quite vocal and takes some time to settle when left alone, so any time spent by himself should be introduced gradually and at a pace he is comfortable with. New owners will need to be patient with him while he adapts to the home environment, Zobra has lots of love to give and will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a steady dog who is happiest when he can be close to the people he loves. About Zobra

What life with Zobra looks like

Zobra is a small senior dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zobra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zobra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zobra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zobra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zobra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zobra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zobra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
