Zoe, a beautiful little fox, came to us with Sanidad after being found wondering alone, without a microchip. We later on found out that she comes from a situation of abuse, where she had been kept and hurt by drunk people. When she first arrived, she was missing fur on the back side of her body, seemingly due to some larger wound or damage of skin, but that luckily recovered very quickly and now she has beautiful full fur. Zoe absolutely loves "her humans", the caretakers that she sees every day and who take her out for walks and offer her yummy food. She goes nuts seeing them, dancing around, rolling on the floor, climbing up to the lap. When she meets new people, she is a bit mistrusting the first moment, but when people squat down closer to the ground, then she loosens up immediately and goes smooching to everyone, she just needs a little sign that you are not a threat, which is understandable as she has been beaten in the past. She is also lovely with men and with children, as long as everyone shows her they are not a threat, then she directly starts with the cuddles. Zoe loves to eat - snacks and yummy meat/fish are her favourite and she repays you with a happy dance. She really enjoys going for walks, and to run around in the dog park, jumping between the bushes. At the moment she reacts to other dogs in a barky manner, we do not know if that is from the shelter stress and feeling insecure in other dogs presence or maybe it is due to complete lack of previous canine socialisation. At the moment Zoe is looking for a home where to be a single princess in a calm environment, but we will start socialisations with her in the shelter, to see if she would like to live with or to be together with other dogs as well. Her shoulder height is just about 35cm, she is a small girl.
