Deze kleine podenco-dame werd op straat gevonden met maar liefst 7 puppies, helemaal alleen! Zoë was sterk vermagerd maar deed zó haar best voor haar kleintjes. Ze mochten allemaal naar PawsPatas, waar ze haar nestje in alle veiligheid kon grootbrengen. Inmiddels hebben de puppies allemaal een fijn thuis gevonden, hoogtijd dat we voor dit lieve moedertje een warme mand gaan zoeken. PawsPatas biedt onderdak en aandacht aan zwerfhonden en katten in Zuidoost-Spanje. Het asiel werd in 1989 opgericht door een groep enthousiaste vrijwilligers die zich het lot van de Spaanse zwerfdieren aantrok. Dieren worden er nooit ingeslapen, hoe lang ze er ook zitten. Bij Paws-Patas werken veel vrijwilligers. Een flink deel komt van buiten Spanje om een paar weken te helpen met het verzorgen en socialiseren van de honden. Stichting Wereldhonden werkt al lang samen met dit asiel. We plaatsen regelmatig honden en we hopen mensen enthousiast te maken voor vrijwilligerswerk in Spanje (zie ‘Helpen’ op deze website). Zoë is al wat ouder, 9 jaar (geb. 7 maart 2017). Ze mag dan een senior in jaren zijn, maar dat zegt niet zo veel: ze is een podenco! Honden van dit ranke en sportief gebouwde ras hebben meestal niet veel last van ouderdomskwaaltjes en blijven lang actief. Zoë kan zo maar nog vele goede jaren tegoed hebben. Ze is medium actief en gaat graag mee wandelen, daar geniet ze enorm van. Zoë loopt keurig mee aan de riem. Dit lieve hondje heeft waarschijnlijk niet eerder in een huis gewoond en is een beetje op haar hoede als ze je niet kent. Maar met wat geduld en lekkere snackjes mag je je al snel haar vriendje noemen. Met mensen is ze ontzettend vriendelijk, maar ze heeft echt de tijd nodig om iemand volledig te leren kennen. Zoë houdt van rust en zal zich zeker happy voelen als enig hondje. Andere honden maken haar onzeker en dat vindt ze niet fijn. Katten vindt ze vooral leuk om achteraan te rennen.
