Zorro

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 7 months

Zorro (born 03/2026) is an adorable giant baby with black fur, four white little socks, and a lovely snow-white nose. Despite his impressive size, there is still a real puppy inside him, discovering the world in his own cozy way. This dear fellow has a rather calm temperament, is playful, and sometimes wonderfully clumsy. Instead of racing wildly around, he likes to sit or lie down comfortably while playing. Overall, Zorro seems uncomplicated, but he can certainly have a mind of his own. With loving consistency and patience, he will still need to learn that not everything always goes his way. Zorro already walks on the leash, although his temperament sometimes gets the better of him during walks. Then he pulls hard or chews on the leash, but we are working diligently on this. He really enjoys his walks, but he likes to take little breaks in between and simply sit down whenever he feels like it. True to the motto: haste makes waste... Unfamiliar noises and cars hardly impress him, and so far he has shown himself to be fearless in other ways too. Of course, as a young dog, Zorro still needs to learn the whole basics of dog behavior. His people should enjoy patiently and consistently guiding him through this important developmental phase, providing him with both the necessary activity and enough rest. Given his already impressive size and the further growth we expect, we wish for Zorro a home with a garden where he has plenty of room. He is looking for people who are prepared for a large, playful young dog and who will lovingly accompany him on his path into adulthood. Who would like to show this charming giant baby the world and grow up together with him? Zorro is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check. Wearing a safety harness is required when collecting the dog. Such a harness (3-strap safety harness) can be purchased for only €25.

Zorro (geb.

About Zorro

What life with Zorro looks like

Zorro is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zorro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zorro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zorro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zorro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Zorro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zorro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zorro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
