adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Zorro has found his home! His story: Allow me to introduce Zorro. A little masked man with floppy ears… Yes, indeed! Our Zorro is a little adventurer who conquers more hearts in a storm than any hero in a romance novel. Found where hero stories usually end: on a deserted farm in Romania, among rubble, misery, and unfortunately also dead puppies. He and his siblings must have experienced something awful there, because some of the puppies were also maimed. But our Zorro has survived and earned his name. In the shelter in Fantanele, this approximately 4-month-old little hound is now for the first time in safety. There, he can play with his siblings and stuff his belly every day. The sweet Zorro not only has his namesake, extraordinary mask in his fur pattern, he is simply also so incredibly fluffy! His fur is a wild mix of gray, beige, and black with wonderful floppy ears and a gaze that swings somewhere between "little rogue" and "big heartthrob." Zorro is now very friendly, playful, and curious. He gets along well with other dogs and is delighted with every pat he can get. Whether he likes cats, we still haven't figured out. But our Zorro is also a little hero with big plans! For he is now finally searching for his own home with people who will teach him the little doggie basics with lots of love and patience—because life in a family is still completely foreign to him—and of course a warm dog bed, in which he can dream of his heroic adventures every night. Zorro will likely be medium-sized. Zorro will be microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed in his new home and of course has his EU pet passport with him. He can now say "I want to give Zorro his personal heroic happy ending?" Then please get in touch with us. Many thanks, Marina B, for giving the little masked man his perfect name! As of: 19.07.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Zorro hat sein Zuhause gefunden! Seine Geschichte: Gestatten, sein Name ist Zorro. Ein kleiner Mann mit Maske und …. Schlappohren? Stand: 19.07.2025

About Zorro

What life with Zorro looks like

Zorro is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zorro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zorro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zorro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zorro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zorro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zorro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zorro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
