Adopt Zoya T

Mixed Breed · Female

Zoya – A beautiful Shepherd-Malinoffemale dog seeks her forever home Zoya had a very tough past. She lived in a remote village, chained up and extremely emaciated, fighting for survival. When we learned about her dire situation, we did not hesitate. Her "owner," an alcoholic, did not take care of her, and only with the support of the police were we finally able to free her from that terrible circumstance. Despite all her hardships, Zoya has not lost her zest for life. She is an incredibly loving and beautiful female German Shepherd who is now safe and gradually regaining her strength. Zoya loves to go for walks – we regularly walk 5–6 km, during which she enjoys herself immensely. She loves playing with sticks and balls and shows a lively energy that one would hardly expect given her difficult past. Although she can still be a bit reserved at times, which is completely understandable considering the lack of affection and care she experienced previously, she loves people immensely and is ready to build trust. In her new home, she will be a loyal and loving companion. She has already gained some weight, and we have also taken her to the vet. Her neutering must wait until she gains more weight. The conducted Caniv-4 test came back negative, which makes us very happy for her. Currently, Zoya is not particularly interested in other dogs and does not show interest in cats either. She is a very disciplined dog and focuses more on her people and her environment. Standing at a height of 63 cm and weighing 18 kg, she is a formidable female dog that still needs to gain more weight. Zoya would be the perfect companion for a sporty family or active individuals who enjoy hiking and walking regularly. She is seeking people who can give her plenty of time, love, and attention to enable her to lead a happy and fulfilling life. If you would like to offer Zoya a home full of affection and security, we look forward to hearing from you. Zoya has so much love to give and will enrich your life with her faithful and friendly nature. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

About Zoya T

What life with Zoya T looks like

Zoya T is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zoya T, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zoya T?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zoya T on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zoya T if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zoya T already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zoya T isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zoya T and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
