Αστορια βρέθηκε με τον αρσενικό της Γερμανικό Σφίγγα φίλο στο Βουλεβάρδο της Μαρμπέλλας, και οι δύο τους φορούσαν σκυλιά, οι δύο ακαττίστα. Πιστεύεται ότι ανήκαν σε στάβλο Ρομά, ή άλλους τύπους ταξιδιωτικών ομάδων ανθρώπων. Η Αστορια είναι μια ευτυχισμένη, χαρούμενη, περιεκτική και υπερήφανη κοπέλα, και την αγαπάει πραγματικά τους ανθρώπους. Αμέσως μόλις δει έναν άνθρωπο, το ουρά της δεν σταματά να κουνιέται. Αν και φαίνεται σε εμάς ότι πιθανώς δεν περιπάτησαν πολύ με σκυλιά στη ζωή τους, η Αστορια περιπατά καλά με το σκυλιά και είναι αισθητικά στο ρυθμό σας και τις οδηγίες σας. Το μαλλί της είναι όμορφο και το πλάτος της είναι ευθύ, δεν έχει χαμηλές γοφούς, στέκεται και περπατά καλά και δεν εμφανίζει αυτή τη στιγμή ισχιακά ή γοφικά προβλήματα, τα οποία είναι συνηθισμένα για τους Σφίγγες. Η Αστορια έχει θερμή φύση και είναι υποτακτική με τον αρσενικό της φίλο Λενναρτ. Μπορούν να αποδοθούν μαζί ή ξεχωριστά, και η Αστορια μπορεί να είναι το μόνο σκυλί ενός σπιτιού (αν η επαφή με άλλα σκυλιά παρέχεται κατά τη διάρκεια της ζωής της) ή μπορεί να ζει μαζί με ένα άλλο αρσενικό σκυλί, δεν την έχουμε δοκιμάσει ακόμα με άλλες θηλυκά, ωστόσο δεν έχει προκαλέσει προβλήματα με κανένα σκυλί που έχει περάσει. Δεν φαίνεται να έχει διδαχθεί να κάτσει, ή να εστιάσει σε ασκήσεις, προπόνηση, οπότε θα ήταν τέλειο αν το μέλλον της ανθρώπου θα αφιερώσει λίγο χρόνο και προσπάθεια στην ενημέρωσή της για τη χαρά της μάθησης νέων πραγμάτων, προπόνηση τρικς, λίγη αγωνιστική, προπόνηση υπακοής. Το ύψος των ώμων της είναι περίπου 61 cm.

Astoria was found with her male German Shepherd friend on the Boulevard of Marbella, both of them wearing collars, both uncastrated. It is believed that they belonged to a gypsy camp, or other types of travelling groups of people. Astoria is a cheerful, happy, adventurous and curious girl, and she really loves people. As soon as she sees a human, her tail doesn't stop wagging. Even though it seems to us they were probably not walked on leash much in their lives, Astoria walks well on the leash and is responsive to your pace and instructions. Her fur is beautiful and her back is leveled straight, she does not have low hips, she stands and walks well and does not at this point show to have joint or hip issues, which are normally very common for Shepherds. Astoria has a kind nature and she is submissive with her male friend Adolfo. As Adolfo was becoming a bit too dominant with her, and that made Astoria behave in a more hectic manner, then they have been separated in the shelter and we're working with them separately. Around the shelter Astoria is reactive to some dogs passing her buy but at the same time, she is very good in supervised socialisations, and shows positive interest in some specific dogs, so we believe it is a matter of positive socialisation experiences for her, and training to co-exist in a relaxed manner with other dogs passing her, even if the situation might be stressy. Astoria could be either the only dog of a home (if controlled dog contact is provided throughout her life) or she could live together with another balanced, confident male dog. It would be great if her future human would invest some time and effort in showing her the joys of learning new things, training little tricks, a bit of agility, obedience training. Astoria LOVES to jump into the car and get going for an adventure! Her shoulder height is approximately 61cm.
