Astoria è stata trovata con il suo amico maschio pastore tedesco sul Boulevard di Marbella, entrambi con il collare, entrambi non sterilizzati. Si ritiene che appartengano a un accampamento di zingari o ad altri tipi di gruppi di persone nomadi. Astoria è una ragazza allegra, felice, avventurosa e curiosa, e ama molto le persone. Appena vede un essere umano, la sua coda non smette di muoversi. Anche se sembra che probabilmente non siano mai stati portati a spasso al guinzaglio molto nella loro vita, Astoria cammina bene al guinzaglio e risponde al tuo ritmo e alle tue istruzioni. Il suo pelo è bellissimo e la sua schiena è dritta, non ha anche i fianchi bassi, si tiene in piedi e cammina bene e al momento non mostra problemi articolari o del bacino, che normalmente sono molto comuni nei pastori tedeschi. Astoria ha una natura dolce e si sottomette al suo amico maschio Lennart. Possono essere adottati insieme o separatamente, e Astoria potrebbe essere l'unico cane della casa (se viene fornito contatto con altri cani durante tutta la sua vita) o potrebbe vivere insieme ad un altro cane maschio, non l'abbiamo ancora testata con altre femmine, tuttavia non ha creato problemi con nessun cane con cui è passata. Non sembra che sia mai stata addestrata a sedersi o a concentrarsi su esercizi, quindi sarebbe fantastico se il futuro umano investisse tempo ed energia per mostrarle i piaceri dell'apprendimento di nuove cose, addestramento a piccoli trucchi, un po' di agility, addestramento all'obbedienza. L'altezza delle spalle è circa 61 cm.

Astoria was found with her male German Shepherd friend on the Boulevard of Marbella, both of them wearing collars, both uncastrated. It is believed that they belonged to a gypsy camp, or other types of travelling groups of people. Astoria is a cheerful, happy, adventurous and curious girl, and she really loves people. As soon as she sees a human, her tail doesn't stop wagging. Even though it seems to us they were probably not walked on leash much in their lives, Astoria walks well on the leash and is responsive to your pace and instructions. Her fur is beautiful and her back is leveled straight, she does not have low hips, she stands and walks well and does not at this point show to have joint or hip issues, which are normally very common for Shepherds. Astoria has a kind nature and she is submissive with her male friend Adolfo. As Adolfo was becoming a bit too dominant with her, and that made Astoria behave in a more hectic manner, then they have been separated in the shelter and we're working with them separately. Around the shelter Astoria is reactive to some dogs passing her buy but at the same time, she is very good in supervised socialisations, and shows positive interest in some specific dogs, so we believe it is a matter of positive socialisation experiences for her, and training to co-exist in a relaxed manner with other dogs passing her, even if the situation might be stressy. Astoria could be either the only dog of a home (if controlled dog contact is provided throughout her life) or she could live together with another balanced, confident male dog. It would be great if her future human would invest some time and effort in showing her the joys of learning new things, training little tricks, a bit of agility, obedience training. Astoria LOVES to jump into the car and get going for an adventure! Her shoulder height is approximately 61cm.
