Astoria werd gevonden met haar mannelijke Duitse herder vriend op de Boulevard van Marbella, beiden met een halsband, beiden ongezet. Men vermoedt dat ze tot een gypsy kamp of andere soorten reizende mensen groepen behoorden. Astoria is een blij, gelukkig, avontuurlijk en nieuwsgierig meisje, en ze houdt echt van mensen. Zodra ze een mens ziet, stopt haar staart niet met wapperen. Hoewel het ons lijkt alsof ze waarschijnlijk niet veel op een leiband zijn uitgelopen in hun leven, loopt Astoria goed op de leiband en reageert ze op je tempo en instructies. Haar vacht is mooi en haar rug is recht, ze heeft geen lage heupen, ze staat en loopt goed en toont op dit moment geen problemen met gewrichten of heupen, wat normaal gesproken erg gebruikelijk is voor herders. Astoria heeft een liefdevol karakter en is onderdanig tegenover haar mannelijke vriend Lennart. Ze kunnen samen of apart worden geadopteerd, en Astoria kan de enige hond van een huis zijn (als er gedurende haar leven contact met andere honden wordt geboden) of ze kan samenwonen met een andere mannelijke hond, we hebben haar nog niet getest met andere vrouwtjes, maar ze heeft geen problemen veroorzaakt met welke honden ze ook passeerde. Het lijkt erop dat ze niet is geleerd te zitten of zich te concentreren op oefeningen, trainen, dus zou het geweldig zijn als haar toekomstige mens tijd en moeite zou willen besteden aan het laten zien hoe leuk het is om nieuwe dingen te leren, training kleine trucs, een beetje agiliteit, gehoorzaamheidstraining. Haar schouderhoogte is ongeveer 61 cm.

Astoria was found with her male German Shepherd friend on the Boulevard of Marbella, both of them wearing collars, both uncastrated. It is believed that they belonged to a gypsy camp, or other types of travelling groups of people. Astoria is a cheerful, happy, adventurous and curious girl, and she really loves people. As soon as she sees a human, her tail doesn't stop wagging. Even though it seems to us they were probably not walked on leash much in their lives, Astoria walks well on the leash and is responsive to your pace and instructions. Her fur is beautiful and her back is leveled straight, she does not have low hips, she stands and walks well and does not at this point show to have joint or hip issues, which are normally very common for Shepherds. Astoria has a kind nature and she is submissive with her male friend Adolfo. As Adolfo was becoming a bit too dominant with her, and that made Astoria behave in a more hectic manner, then they have been separated in the shelter and we're working with them separately. Around the shelter Astoria is reactive to some dogs passing her buy but at the same time, she is very good in supervised socialisations, and shows positive interest in some specific dogs, so we believe it is a matter of positive socialisation experiences for her, and training to co-exist in a relaxed manner with other dogs passing her, even if the situation might be stressy. Astoria could be either the only dog of a home (if controlled dog contact is provided throughout her life) or she could live together with another balanced, confident male dog. It would be great if her future human would invest some time and effort in showing her the joys of learning new things, training little tricks, a bit of agility, obedience training. Astoria LOVES to jump into the car and get going for an adventure! Her shoulder height is approximately 61cm.
