Harper è un incrocio di piccola o media taglia con circa due anni. Harper ha avuto un inizio di vita che purtroppo è molto comune nel suo paese d'origine, la Romania. È stata portata nel rifugio pubblico di Botosani a una tenera età, come uno dei centinaia di cuccioli che vengono abbandonati lì ogni anno e semplicemente non è stata adottata. Tanti sprecano il tempo che dovrebbe essere felice e senza preoccupazioni, vivendo nello stress e nella sporcizia del rifugio. Per questo motivo, Harper è timida con le persone che non conosce e ha bisogno di guida e pazienza per costruire la sua fiducia. A casa è una cagnolina molto affettuosa, tenera e vivace che ama giocare o dormire con un compagno canino. È una ragazza intelligente e motivata dal cibo. Un altro cane giocoso e sicuro di sé in casa sarebbe molto utile per Harper. Harper ha superato il test con i gatti. Può vivere con bambini di età scolastica secondaria che capiscono che ha bisogno di un po' di tempo per conoscere. Se sei interessato, invia un messaggio o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Tariffe di adozione Dal 1° dicembre 2025 i cuccioli già castrati e tutti i cani adulti costano 430 sterline. Cuccioli non castrati con contratto di sterilizzazione: 530 sterline (riceverai un rimborso di 100 sterline una volta che ci invierai la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): 150-250 sterline (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Policy di adozione Quando adotti un cane da Safe Rescue, DEVI utilizzare un guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il cane. Se il cane si spaventa, il guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per impedirgli di scappare (molti cani possono scappare da collare e/o guinzaglio). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi perché il cane si ambienti e tu lo conosca pienamente (più a lungo per cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve essere sempre utilizzato durante questo periodo di ambientamento. Anche dopo che il cane è ambientato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni in cui il cane potrebbe spaventarsi (ad esempio visitando luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi trigger inaspettati (ad esempio intorno alla notte di fuochi d'artificio). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre un guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Applicare pressione sul collo del cane con il guinzaglio è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira il guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitano danni. Una volta che il cane si è ambientato, potresti considerare di utilizzare una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è abituato a esser maneggiato quando è fissata. La maggior parte delle cingie non sono antifuga, ma quelle con una cingia dietro le costole (ad esempio Ruffwear Webmaster o Perfect Fit Harnesses) sono più sicure. Harper is a small to mid sized crossbreed aged about two years. Harper had a start in life that is sadly all too common in her native country of Romania. She was taken into the Botosani public shelter at a very young age as one of hundreds of puppies that get dumped there each year and she simply didn’t get picked for adoption. So many waste what is supposed to be care free puppy time living in the stress and filth of the shelter. Because of this, Harper is shy around people she doesn’t know and needs guidance and patience in building up her confidence. In the home she is a very affectionate, snuggly, and cheeky pup that loves playing or snoozing with a doggie pal. She is a bright, food motivated girl. Another playful, confident dog in the home would be very helpful for Harper. Harper has passed her cat testing. She can live with high school aged children that understand she needs a bit of time to get to know them. Harper fostered Croydon. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
