16-05-26 Xenon chegou-nos de um criador e agora procura um lar amoroso para sempre onde possa começar uma nova vida. Ela está sobrecarregada por se encontrar aqui e claramente não teve muita interação humana antes, por isso pode estar bastante ansiosa em ser manipulada no momento. Ela fica especialmente nervosa quando está na sua gaiola e foge de ti, no entanto, assim que sai da gaiola começa a sair do casulo e até se aconchega ao teu lado no pátio de brincadeiras. Ela já está a tentar ser corajosa e com tempo, paciência e muito cuidado, achamos que ela irá prosperar num lar. Embora Xenon seja uma rapariga preocupada, sentimos que seria mais adequada para ser adotada como cão único, pois não gosta de partilhar o seu espaço com outros cães. Ela procurará um lar tranquilo e calmo onde os seus adotantes estejam presentes durante a maior parte do tempo. Precisará de adotantes que tenham experiência com cães resgatados assustados e que lhe permitam adaptar-se ao seu próprio ritmo e podemos considerar colocá-la com jovens mais velhos, experientes com cães, com 16 anos ou mais. Como Xenon nunca viveu num lar antes, os seus adotantes terão de ser pacientes e compreensivos enquanto ela aprender tudo sobre a vida em lar e novas competências tais como treino para fazer xixi dentro de casa. Ela está apenas a começar a aprender a andar com coleira e guia e necessitará de apoio e prática contínuos à medida que a sua confiança cresce. Com tempo, amor e gentileza, ela começará a deixar o seu passado para trás e perceberá quão maravilhoso pode ser o seu futuro.

16-05-26 Xenon has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for a loving forever home where she can begin her new life. She is overwhelmed to find herself here and clearly hasn’t had much human interaction before, so she can be quite anxious about being handled at the moment. She is especially nervous when inside her kennel and will run away from you, however, once she is out of her kennel she begins to come out of her shell and will even snuggle up next to you in the play yard. She is already trying so hard to be brave and with time, patience and plenty of TLC, we think she will flourish in a home. Although Xenon is a worried girl, we feel she would be best suited to being homed as an only dog as she isn't keen on sharing her space with other dogs. She will be looking for a calm and quiet home where her adopters are around most of the time. She would need adopters who have experience with scared rescue dogs and who will let her settle in at her own pace and we may consider homing her with older, dog savvy teenagers 16+. As Xenon has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she learns all about home life and new skills such as house training. She is just starting to learn about walking on a lead and harness and will need continued support and practice as her confidence grows. With time, love and kindness she will begin to leave her past behind her and realise just how wonderful her future can be.
