Marli

Male · Young · 1 year

Marli is still a young pup – he’s not quite a year old. He recently arrived at the animal shelter and is trying to find his place in this new reality. He’s full of energy, quite strong, and always ready for play and doggy mischief. Occasionally, in his too intense play, he gently nips. He’s very friendly towards humans, eager to snuggle and offer his paw. It’s clear that he misses human company a lot. He comes when called, walks nicely on a leash, and knows commands like sit and give a paw. On walks, he’s eager to explore the surroundings of the animal shelter, but he’s still unsure and easily scared, for example, by unfamiliar objects or sounds. He shows interest in other dogs and can befriend some of them. In May, he participated in his first Warsaw Adopt-a-Dog event and behaved admirably. Here’s a report from our Volunteer: “It’s clear that Marli was riding the bus for the first time, but generally, he did what the other dogs did – if they lay down, he lay down. If they barked, he barked. In the park, there were no problems with other dogs. He ignored them or wanted to play, and those that lunged with their teeth he stepped aside for. When another female dog gave him a clear signal that she didn’t want to be toyed with, he understood beautifully. People were charmed by him, he was sweet and loved. They were impressed that Marli was so calm for a young pup. Cars, bicycles, and children didn’t pose any problem for him. He was allowed to take toys. He was curious about everything but remained calm. It’s clear that he finds it very important to have contact with other dogs. It’s important that in his future home, he can fulfill this need. He needs an experienced and loving caregiver who will raise him to be a wise dog, accustomed to the world, and surrounded by caring attention forever. We invite you to meet the charming Marlin, a dog under the care of G1.

Marli to jeszcze psi podlotek – ma niecały rok. Trafi niedawno do schroniska i próbuje odnaleźć się w nowej rzeczywistości. Jest pełen energii, dość silny i zawsze gotowy do zabawy i psich szaleństw. Czasem w zbyt silnych emocjach w zabawie delikatnie podgryza. Jak szczekały to i on szczekał.

About Marli

What life with Marli looks like

Marli is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
