Tina

Female · Adult · 5 years

Tina is about 5 years old and a small, gray "puppy" with a very distinctive style. She somewhat resembles a seal - although calm, she has a decent undercoat (unlike her sea cousins). In addition, she has characteristic white "pants" that only emphasize that we are dealing with a real lady. For years she was a house dog, had her person and her place. Today, her caregiver needs care, and Tina is trying to find her way in a reality that completely does not fit her previous life. She often hides in the shed, as if waiting for someone to take her away and everything to return to normal. At first contact, she can be withdrawn - she needs a moment, peace, and maybe a few treats, to be convinced. And when that happens, she starts to approach the person and clearly seeks closeness. On walks, she walks in her own world - she can start walking ahead with determination, but from time to time turns around to make sure her person is still on the other side of the leash. She loves chasing sticks, although she's amusingly clumsy at it - she runs with enthusiasm, catches the prize ... and then momentarily seems to lose her idea of what to do next. In interactions with other dogs, she can be temperamental, especially if someone starts first. Therefore, she requires a patient and aware approach in interactions with other dogs. For now, we are learning about each other and will update her description. Still, we already know one thing - Tina is a lady who hasn't stopped believing in her place by a person's side. She is likely to find her home with non-aggressive children. The relationship with cats has not been confirmed. Female dog has a little too much body for her elegant nature. Therefore, in addition to a warm spot on the couch, she needs someone who takes care of her figure. Best if that caregiver knows that a real lady doesn't have to be perfect. It's enough if she is cared for. Tina is looking for someone who will take care of her health and help her regain lightness - not only in body, but also in life. Trochę przypomina fokę - choć spokojnie, podszerstek posiada (i to całkiem porządny), w przeciwieństwie do swoich morskich kuzynek. I to o jakim cudownym charakterze!

About Tina

What life with Tina looks like

Tina is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
