Adopt Boris

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Boris is a charming gentleman who truly offers the best of both worlds. When it's time for adventure, he'll happily join you on walks and days out exploring. Once he's had his fill of fun, he's more than content to curl up beside you on the sofa for cuddles and a well-earned afternoon snooze. Boris loves being with his people and thrives on companionship. Whether it's a stroll around the neighbourhood, exploring woodlands or simply relaxing at home, he's happiest when he's included in whatever you're doing. He would much rather be by your side than left home alone, so he's looking for adopters who can gradually build up his confidence with being left for short periods while he settles into his new routine. Boris enjoys the company of other dogs and could potentially live with a similarly playful, well-matched canine companion, pending successful introductions at the centre. He does have a strong interest in chasing cats, so he's looking for a feline-free home. Boris could live with children aged around 10 years and over, pending successful meets at the centre. He's looking for a family who will enjoy plenty of playtime together before welcoming him onto the sofa for the cuddles he loves so much. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who is equally happy exploring by your side or snuggled up at home, Boris could be the perfect match. About Adopt Boris

What life with Adopt Boris looks like

Adopt Boris is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Boris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Boris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Boris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Boris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Boris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Boris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Boris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
