Adopt Maxi

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Adult Β· 8 years

Maxi is a gentle boy who found himself bewildered when he arrived with us a stray. After a worried start Maxi has begun to flourish with his patient foster family. Maxi gains confidence in the presence of other calm, smaller dogs. He is currently sharing his foster family with a gentle canine companion and is happily coexisting. Maxi will need to be rehomed where there is at least one other dog currently residing in the home.Due to Maxi’s worried nature, he is looking for a home without young children, if children are present in the home they would need to be aged 14+. One of Maxi’s favourite past times is playing with his toys, although all that playtime is tiring so of course a snooze in the sunshine is well deserved. He is very gentle on the lead and enjoys a slow mooch. If you have a quiet and calm household with a lot of love to give, Maxi may be the boy for you! About Adopt Maxi

What life with Adopt Maxi looks like

Adopt Maxi is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Maxi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Maxi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Maxi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Maxi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Adopt Maxi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Maxi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Maxi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
