Greyhound · Male

Jinx’s foster family describe him as a curious, confident boy with the waggiest tail ever. He has already discovered one of life’s great joys, the garden hose 💦🐾, and has also revealed himself to be quite the TV enthusiast. In fact, he seems completely mesmerised by the screen, with a particular interest in Breaking Bad 📺👀. Today, beautiful brindle boy Jinx left kennel life behind forever and made the journey to Kildare, where he has settled into his loving foster home 🏡❤️. A huge thank you to Yvette, George, and pawsome resident houndie Snowie for once again coming to the rescue and opening both their home and hearts to a houndie in need 🙏🐾. Thanks to their kindness, Jinx was able to leave our waiting list behind and take his first steps towards the happy life he deserves ❤️. Jinx’s foster family describe him as a curious, confident boy with the waggiest tail you ever did see 🥹🐾❤️. True to form, he wasted no time getting stuck into exploring his new surroundings and making himself right at home. While he hasn’t quite mastered the mysteries of the couch or the stairs just yet, his foster pawrents have a feeling this clever, inquisitive fella won’t take long to figure them out 🥰. Jinx is completely mesmerised by the screen, with a particular interest in Breaking Bad 📺👀. He is the kind of hound who makes everyone smile the moment they meet him. He is currently on our waiting list and needs a foster home to begin his journey. Once he is settled and safe in a real home, he will show us everything he has to offer. 🛋️ A sofa to call his own. Somewhere warm and comfortable to stretch out and finally relax. 🔇 Quiet and calm. It's how we make the best matches for life. • All costs covered: food, vet care, supplies. • Regular check-ins and support. • Guidance every step of the way. • Most placements last 2-8 weeks. We guide you through everything and provide full support. We ask for kindness, consistency and a warm space for Jinx to feel safe. Written by the Rehoming Irish Greyhounds team. About Adopt Jinx

What life with Adopt Jinx looks like

Adopt Jinx is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team in Dublin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Jinx, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Jinx?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Jinx on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Jinx if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Jinx already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Jinx isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RIGHT - Rehoming Irish Greyhounds Team early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Jinx and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
