Aguiles

German Shepherd · Male · Young · 1 year

Aquiles - beautiful dog looking for his place in life Aquiles is a young shepherd mix currently living in a Spanish animal shelter. We don't know much about his background, and the caretakers are just getting to know him better. What we can say already now is that Aquiles is very social and compatible with other dogs. He gets along well with companions, males and females, and makes an uncomplicated impression in canine company. Otherwise, there are currently not many details about his character or his previous life. Young dogs often initially show only a small part of their true nature in the shelter. Much develops only when they gain security and can arrive in a calmer environment. As a puppy, Aquiles has his whole life ahead of him. This also means that he probably still has a lot to learn: living in a household, everyday noises, leash training, housebreaking, and close coexistence with humans. Therefore, we are looking for people who are willing to accompany Aquiles on this path with patience, time, and loving consistency. Young dogs need not only exercise but also orientation, stimulation, and clear structures. A dog should not be a spontaneous decision, because taking on this responsibility means a long-term commitment over many years. Development does not always proceed in a straight line, and also more demanding phases are part of it. But we are sure that with the right support, Aquiles can develop into a happy, balanced dog, and that he will greatly enrich the life of his future family. If you are aware of what comes with adopting a rescue dog and have fallen in love with him, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Aid. We would also be very grateful if you could provide a foster home for Aquiles! Here is the video of Aquiles Here is Video 2

About Aguiles

What life with Aguiles looks like

Aguiles is a young adult german shepherd dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aguiles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aguiles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aguiles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aguiles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aguiles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aguiles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aguiles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
