adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Alejandro may stay in its foster family! His story: 52066 Aachen. Alejandro shows himself in his foster home as a friendly, open, enterprising, and accommodating dog who quickly integrated into the new pack. He is a cheerful nature, enjoys life to the fullest, plays very much, and likes to go for walks, especially in the forest. Alejandro already runs quite well on a leash, but sometimes has his own mind. In new situations, he sometimes reacts insecurely, for example, during encounters with other dogs. At home, he is a loving and well-socialized dog. Currently, Alejandro measures 50 cm, weighs 20 kg, and is expected to only grow a few more centimeters. Back then, in Baia Mare, Alejandro as a puppy most likely fell into a wild animal trap. A leg was severely injured, but it could be operated on and saved. However, the boy still has pain. During walks, he currently wears a bandage around his right wrist to stabilize it and attends regular physiotherapy until he is fully grown and the joint can stiffen. This helps to relieve muscle tension and make the joints more movable. The handsome young male dog wishes for loving adopters who will do a lot with him and teach him something. However, he is not a dog suitable for hiking or bike tours. A visit to a positively working dog training class would certainly bring him joy. One or two mishaps should not be held against him and should always be accompanied by a positively reinforcing upbringing style. We can also imagine Alejandro in a family with understanding children or with sturdy seniors. An already existing only dog would be a great joy for Alejandro, as would a garden.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Alejandro darf in seiner Pflegefamilie bleiben!

About Alejandro

What life with Alejandro looks like

Alejandro is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alejandro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alejandro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alejandro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alejandro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alejandro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alejandro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alejandro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
