Adopt Amarilla

Mixed Breed · Female

Seven-year-old female dog who came under our care after an intervention in the commune of Płośnica. She is a small, seven-kilogram being with large eyes that still show uncertainty. Amarilla is a "timid" type that needs time and calm to understand that touching a person can be associated with something good. In the shelter, Amarilla is slowly beginning to trust her caregivers. Although she may warnly snap her teeth at sudden movements, with a calm and gentle approach she becomes fully manageable - she allows grooming procedures, veterinary examinations, and even being held in arms (although this still stresses her). On walks, she still feels uncertain; she may resist the leash or try to bite it, and street movement causes her fear, which she would rather run away from into the fields. We are looking for her a home in a quiet area, preferably alongside a patient guide. In relationships with other animals, Amarilla is exemplary. In a room with dogs, she feels great, and as soon as the person disappears from sight, she can even play carefree on the yard. She completely ignores cats. This is a female dog who, in a home environment, far from the noise of the shelter, will certainly make rapid progress. We are looking for a place that will give her support, space, and love, which she has not experienced so far. — METRYCZKA — 🧮 Age: 10.2020 r. 🚻 Gender: female dog 🐾 Size: 7kg 🏀 Activity: medium ❤️ Neutering: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Place of residence:

About Amarilla

What life with Amarilla looks like

Amarilla is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amarilla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amarilla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amarilla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amarilla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amarilla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amarilla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amarilla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
