Amos-2

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Native Country: Hungary Amos, the charming fellow, has been a resident of the our shelter since March 18, 2026. He was found homeless by kind people in Kecskemét, who then kindly informed the animal shelter. Where and under what circumstances the little one spent his previous life, only Amos knows. The only thing we know is that he was not microchipped, and no one missed him. We cross our fingers that he can soon exchange the our shelter for a loving home and leave his past behind. Amos would love to spend his time in a cozy home, not in a shelter kennel. In the first few minutes, he can be a bit shy, but with cuddles and loving words, he warms up quickly. He is a sweet, friendly, and kind fellow who now wants to explore the world with his people. Walking on a leash works well, but he needs to learn some more things from puppy school, but he is smart and will catch up quickly with gentle guidance. Amos will surely make a great companion for his new two-legged friends, and it will be a joy to spend time with him and teach him a few tricks, as long as the human and dog have plenty of quality time together. Amos gets along well with his fellow animals and is currently (April 20, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our beloved Amos, we urgently seek loving people who will love him with all their hearts. To give him the love, care, security, and safety he misses so much. Beautiful and varied walks, lots of cuddles, a soft, warm, and protected sleeping place, mental and physical stimulation, and people who will walk with him on his further life path and give him structure, all this is what Amos wishes for from the bottom of his heart. A wonderful four-legged friend is looking for a family! Amos can travel starting around mid/end of May 2026 if he finds a home or a foster home.

About Amos-2

What life with Amos-2 looks like

Amos-2 is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amos-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amos-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amos-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amos-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amos-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amos-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amos-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
