De staat waarin hij was, heeft verschillende vrijwilligers doen huilen; zijn halsband was helemaal in zijn nek vergroeid en zijn nek was helemaal open en rauw. Waarschijnlijk had Angelo vanaf dat hij pup was aan de ketting gelegen en is zijn halsband nooit vervangen of groter gemaakt. Angelo is opgenomen in de kliniek van de dierenarts (zie laatste foto) Zijn wonden zijn schoongemaakt en gehecht. Daarvan is het litteken nog licht te zien in zijn hals en nek. Daarna heeft hij een tijd met een kap op moeten lopen. Het gastgezin waar hij was om te revalideren gaf aan dat hij alles rustig en lief onderging. Alsof hij voelde dat hij nu zijn betere leven was begonnen. Toen hij helemaal was hersteld, is hij naar de shelter van Zante Strays gegaan. Daar zit hij nu best alweer even te wachten. Onlangs moest Angelo opnieuw onder het mes; hij had een vetbult op zijn borst en die bleek een paar slecht cellen te bevatten. De bult is in zijn geheel verwijderd en voor de zekerheid zijn er ook biopten genomen. Ook van de lymfeklieren in zijn oksels. Alle uitslagen waren perfect, helemaal geen foute cellen. Dus Angelo is klaar voor zijn volgende stap; een gouden mand vinden in Nederland of België. Angelo weegt zo'n 20 kilo en is 6 jaar geworden Angelo is eigenlijk een wonderhondje. Ondanks alles wat hij heeft meegemaakt, is hij nog steeds een vrolijk en enthousiast kereltje. Onze vrijwilligers hebben hem onlangs ontmoet en hij begroette iedereen even vriendelijk en gezellig. Zij hebben ook gewandeld met hem en hij deed dat harstikke goed. Wat heeft hij ervan genoten! Angelo is dus dol op menselijk gezelschap en op de honden die hij onderweg tegenkwam, reageerde hij ook heel goed. Toch plaatsen wij hem het liefst als enige hond, dat vinden wij het beste voor he
