Annabeth

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

At the animal shelter since: April 2026 Estimated age: born around March 2026 Estimated shoulder height: around 20 – 59 cm Earliest travel arrangements: 01.07. Get to know Annabeth directly in more pictures! Sweet and lovable Annabeth is looking for her warm spot! The little loving Annabeth was found by a kind soul while out walking with her own dog. The poor girl was left with her two siblings (Percy and Grover) near an abandoned building in a cardboard box. Unfortunately, there was not enough space for all the dogs, so the helper asked us for help in housing the trio. In our partner shelter, the friendly girl shows her puppyish curiosity and playfulness. She likes to play with her siblings and is already cautious and not too wild. She is completely open and cuddly with our fosterers, even allowing herself to be picked up and weighed without a problem. For more information about how the dogs end up at the animal shelter and answers to general questions, see our animal protection FAQ. A loving home is being sought for Annabeth, where she can arrive and enjoy the closeness to her people. We wish for this fur-nose people who are aware that animal protection dogs bring a certain history with them. We can never predict at the animal shelter how a dog will react to life in Germany. That’s why we look for people who bring patience, perseverance, and goodwill. But one thing is certain: By adopting instead of buying, you not only give a second chance to an animal but actively choose against animal suffering – and for a life with a very special companion by your side. Already in love? Send us a self-disclosure form! Adoption If you are considering adoption, read through the adoption process first. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and neutered (exceptions are puppies under 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than 1 year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, feel free to send our placement team a message.

About Annabeth

What life with Annabeth looks like

Annabeth is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Annabeth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Annabeth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Annabeth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Annabeth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Annabeth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Annabeth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Annabeth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
