Annie

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

June 2025 Beautiful little Annie’s family have had to make the sad decision to find her a new home after two family members were given sad health diagnosis and are now unable to care for her in the way they wanted to. We very rarely advertise such youngsters but given the time frame we believe it will give Annie her best chance of finding a lovely home. Annie is not yet 7 months, she is a happy, healthy puppy, full of puppy spirit and boisterousness. Her owner has started her training and she does respond well without distractions to sit and stay, her recall is a work in progress, some times she will come, other times she looks at you, then decides if she wants to come or not. Annie has been spending time with a family members Yorkshire Terrier, she tries hard to play with her and is happy to sleep next to her after Annie’s had her exercise and training. She’s been introduced to the grandchildren and has been bouncy and accidentally clumsy, while being happy and confident around them. Annie is housetrained but does occasionally have accidents, she is vaccinated and crate trained but also happy to sleep on her own bed in the lounge, she also travels well in her crate in the car. When she’s left she can still chew things not all the time but occasionally. Around other dogs she’s very playful and happy to interact with anyone up for a game, but she can be too much for some dogs. She hasn’t been introduced to cats or livestock so her reactions are unknown, careful introductions will be needed. Annie hasn’t had her first season yet but when she’s fully matured and at a time to suit her she will be neutered by us as part of our Adoption Contract. We won’t be allowing Annie to be used for breeding purposes. We also won’t be looking for homes with young children or full time workers due to the amount of ongoing training that she will need. Annie’s breeder was contacted but hasn’t responded to the family when they reached out for help. Annie is currently in Shotts on the outskirts of Glasgow and will be rehomed with her Adoption Contract and her 5 weeks free Agria Insurance. If you feel you have the time and experience to help this youngster be the best version of herself that she can be please contact us. About Annie

What life with Annie looks like

Annie is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at GSP Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Annie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Annie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GSP Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Annie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Annie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GSP Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Annie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Annie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GSP Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Annie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
