Adopt Anouk

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Friendly, Anouk came to the large castration campaign in October. In her box, she was initially very shy and did not want to come out at all. Everything was strange, then there was also an unfamiliar leash around her neck, which was simply too much for her. Nowadays, she has come out of her snail house. She shows herself as a happy female dog, who no longer feels uncomfortable with the leash or the harness. She has found a very good friend in the animal shelter. With Bob, she shares a enclosure and the two play together for many hours every day. One of them always starts again. For female dogs, it's about sympathy. She is not generally incompatible, but there are some female dogs she simply does not like. Anouk comes from the street and a lot still needs to be learned and experienced by her. With time and patience, she will gradually become a loyal companion. All are vaccinated, microchipped and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See information on our homepage. Every dog placed makes room for one of the dogs that have to struggle through life hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Anouk

What life with Anouk looks like

Anouk is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anouk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anouk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anouk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anouk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anouk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anouk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anouk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
