Ares and Astro are the best of friends, searching for their forever home. Ares is almost two years old, a handsome tabby cat who was shy and easily startled when he first arrived at the shelter. But after learning that people aren't so scary after all, he quickly transformed into a playful, curious, and goofy fellow. Ares loves to eat treats right out of your hand and seeks attention from humans. Those who earn his trust get plenty of petting too. Ares isn't fully domesticated yet—when you gently tap him, he can even dart up to high places! Still, he’s very social and enjoys both the company of other cats and the affection of humans who provide food and playtime. In fact, Ares is highly food-motivated; especially meaty snacks are a real treat for him. Ares comes from a mixed-breed background and is used to living among other cats. He’s energetic and needs plenty of space to roam around, as well as a safe environment where he can wrestle and cuddle with his best buddy. Ares’ best friend is Astro, a gray-tabby cat who’s estimated to be about four years old. Astro is a much calmer companion and lets himself be handled nicely—his personality is sweet and gentle. Astro also enjoys being petted and scratched, though he’s not quite as eager to come close to people just yet, even though he’s otherwise brave and stays visible during human visits. He’ll politely take treats from your hand, and he particularly enjoys games like swatting at toys. Astro is still a bit more sensitive to stress and tends to submit in the presence of more dominant cats, which has occasionally led to him being teased by other felines. For this reason, Astro wouldn’t do well living with cats who have a more assertive or dominant nature. However, Ares and Astro get along wonderfully, often lounging together in the climbing tree’s nest and happily playing together. We’d love to find a home where these two can move in together—a place where Ares can continue his journey toward full domestication, and where Astro can enjoy a calm, secure environment where he can simply be himself. Ares ja Astro ovat parhaat kaverukset, jotka etsivät omaa loppuelämän kotia. Ares on vajaa 2-vuotias, komea raitapaita, joka oli toimitilalle saapuessaan arka ja poksahteleva, mutta opittuaan etteivät ihmiset olekaan niin pelottavia, hänestä kehkeytyi nopeasti leikkisä, utelias höperö. Ares syö nameja kädestä ja tulee hakemaan ihmisiltä huomiota. Vähän silittämäänkin pääsevät sellaiset, jotka ovat pojan luottamuksen arvoisia. Ares on populaatiotaustainen ja tottunut toisten kissojen seuraan. Hän on energinen ja tarvitsee tilaa kommeltaa ja turvallisen ympäristön jossa saa painia ja halia parhaan kaverinsa kanssa. Areksen paras kaveri on harmaalaikullinen, arviolta noin 4-vuotias Astro. Astro on huomattavasti rauhallisempi kaveri, ja antaa käsitellä kiltisti, luonteeltaan sellainen herttainen herkkis. Astro antaa myös silittää ja rapsutella, muttei ole ihan niin innokas tulemaan ainakaan vielä ihmisen tykö vaikka onkin muuten rohkea ja pysyttelee näkyvillä ihmisten aikana. Makupalat ottaa kohteliaasti kädestä ja esim. huiskaleikit ovat pojun mielestä mukavia. Astro on vielä hieman stressiherkempi, ja alistuu vahvaluonteisempien kissojen edessä, jonka takia ruppana on välillä tullut kiusatuksi toisten kissojen toimesta. Siksi Astrolle ei sovi kämppikseksi kissat, jotka ovat luonteeltaan dominoivia. Areksen kanssa yhteiselo on kuitenkin sujunut hyvin, ja pojat makoilevatkin usein yhdessä kiipeilypuiden pesässä ja touhuavat mielellään keskenään. Toiveissa olisikin koti, jonne pojat saisivat muuttaa yhdessä, ja jossa Ares saisi jatkaa kesyyntymistä ja josta Astro saisi rauhallisen, turvallisen ympäristön jossa olla oma itsensä.
