adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Ari won us over from the very first moment – no wonder, because he is such a friendly guy who perfectly combines the adventurer and the cuddle bear. With his fine sense and kind nature, he knows exactly how to make people happy. At the moment, Ari lives in our private shelter in Zalau, after being rescued from the public animal shelter – a terrible place where not all dogs get a second chance. We do not know what his previous life was like, whether he ever had a owner or lived alone as a street dog. But that makes no difference, because he was clearly deprived in every case. We estimate Ari to be around 7.5 years old, but his energy, playfulness, and zest for life make him look much younger. After a short sniff, he loses his initial reserve and shows his whole love for people. It is not to be overlooked that he enjoys every little attention, every moment of closeness, and especially cuddles to the fullest. He meets other dogs openly and socially. He has not met any cats yet. With a shoulder height of about 56 cm and a weight of around 26 kg, the handsome male dog brings the perfect mix of strength and cuddle size. As a mixed breed, it is not clear which breeds are in Ari. Given his size, we see him better suited for a rural home, and an enclosed garden would be ideal for him. Ari has no problems with walking on a leash, and treats are not only the key to his happiness but also his greatest motivation. With the move into his new home, he will face a whole new world that he will have to get to know step by step. It is important that he is challenged both physically and mentally according to his needs. He gets along well with other animals, so he could also be a great lifelong companion as a second dog. If Ari is adopted, not only will you get a great dog, but also a lifelong friend. Where are his people? A foster home could also do so much good for him. Many thanks, Christine D., for taking on his namesship. As of January 31. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Ari

What life with Ari looks like

Ari is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ari?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ari if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ari isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
