Aria

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Aria, a 7-year-old (as of October 2026) Chihuahua-Pinscher mix, is currently living at the animal shelter in Linares. Aria is a gentle, loving princess, soft, calm, and also very funny. She is looking for human companionship, enjoys following her owner through daily life, and wants to be involved as much as possible. Her motto is "Mittendrin statt nur dabei" (In the thick of it instead of just being there). Aria's story begins on the streets of Bailén, where she was found wandering alone by some young people. Animal lovers brought her to the police, and she was eventually taken into the care of the animal welfare organization on August 19, 2026. Nothing further is known about her past. But who cares about the past when the present is positive and the future looks bright? Aria clearly shows her love for people at the shelter; she is highly professional at making friends, and this also applies to other dogs. Those who assume that her small size means she is a living decorative pillow with legs should stop and think. Even a mini dog is a complete dog. Aria needs attention, reliable training, mental stimulation, exercise, rest periods, and clear rules. She wants to sniff, learn, explore her environment, and be taken seriously as a dog. A garden does not replace walks, a carrier bag does not replace exercise, and cuteness does not replace training. With friendly consistency, patience, and suitable tasks, Aria should have a lot of fun learning together. We wish Aria people who like closeness and at the same time pay attention to her need to remain independent. She should not be carried around all the time or overprotected at every sign of uncertainty. Small dogs benefit just as much from well-built alone time, safe recall, leash training, and relaxed encounters as their larger counterparts. Because Aria likes to be with people, her new family should plan enough time for a gentle introduction. A friendly, well-matched dog in the household is generally possible, as she is completely compatible with other dogs. Whether this also applies to cats and children, we do not know, but there is no reason to assume that Aria would not be well-equipped for this either. Aria wants people who do not underestimate her because of her size. She wants to be a real counterpart and learn like any large dog. Those looking for an affectionate, gentle companion with a talent for comedy, who are willing to invest time in relationships, training, and activities, may have found their match in Aria. She brings charm, affection, and everyday suitability. Her future people should bring patience, a sense of responsibility, and enough sense of the small great personalities of this world.

About Aria

What life with Aria looks like

Aria is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Aria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
