Ariana is a beautiful young cat with the soft, rounded features and dense coat often associated with British Shorthair cats. She carries that same calm, composed presence many people love in the breed, but underneath the elegant appearance is also a very affectionate and emotionally open girl who genuinely enjoys human interaction. She is social, loving, and comfortable around people, often seeking out attention and closeness without being overwhelming or demanding. Ariana feels very balanced emotionally. She enjoys affection, likes being near humans, and settles comfortably into shared spaces without creating chaos around her. Cats with British Shorthair traits are often known for being gentle, observant, and people oriented while still maintaining a certain independence, and Ariana reflects many of those qualities beautifully. She also gets along well with other cats and integrates comfortably into feline company, making her suitable both for homes with existing cats or as a single indoor cat receiving plenty of attention from her humans. Ariana is FIV positive, which understandably sounds frightening to many people at first, but in reality, FIV positive cats can and often do live long, healthy, completely normal lives. FIV, or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, primarily affects the immune system, meaning owners simply need to be a little more mindful about maintaining overall health and preventing unnecessary exposure to illness. Importantly, FIV is not easily spread through casual contact. It cannot be transmitted through sharing food bowls, litter trays, grooming, sleeping together, or normal social interaction. Transmission happens mainly through deep bite wounds, which means many FIV positive cats live perfectly safely alongside other calm, friendly cats without issue. Because Ariana is young, social, and stable around other cats, she could potentially live with other non confrontational cats in the future, depending on the household dynamic and the comfort level of her adopters. FIV positive cats are often unfairly overlooked simply because people misunderstand the condition. In truth, many adopters eventually say they completely forget their cat even has FIV because daily life changes very little. Ariana still plays, loves, relaxes, socialises, and enjoys life exactly like any other young cat. What matters most for cats like Ariana is stability, good nutrition, routine veterinary care, low stress environments, and indoor living where they are protected from unnecessary illness or injury. One of Ariana’s funniest and most endearing habits appears the moment she wants affection. When she is cuddling, purring, or trying to get your attention, she proudly lifts her backside high up into the air with complete confidence, as though presenting herself for admiration is an essential part of the interaction. It is impossible not to laugh when she does it. She seems genuinely convinced this is peak elegance and honestly, it suits her dramatic little personality perfectly. It is one of those tiny quirks that quickly becomes incredibly lovable once you know her. There is absolutely no reason a cat like Ariana should spend her life waiting simply because of three letters attached to her medical record. She has so much life, warmth, and affection left to give the right family.
